Course Information

(Exclusion ELEC 4610)

Phys3038 is an introductory course on optics. Key topics include: ray and wave optics, matrix optics, propagation of light in a medium, thin and thick lenses, optical instruments, polarization, diffraction and interference. Some practical examples and demonstrations will be showed. Some prior knowledge about electromagnetic fields and electromagnetic waves is recommended.
